Heinävesi Canal Rowing Event

18.–20.7.2025

Along Finland’s most beautiful inland waterway route – the Heinävesi route – there are seven naturally scenic canals. Narrow, winding waterways, archipelago-like lake expanses, and old canals make this route, which is over a hundred years old, unique.

The journey starts from the shore of Valamo Monastery on Friday morning and ends in Kolovesi National Park on Sunday. It’s also possible to participate in individual day segments.

Welcome to the stunning landscapes of Heinävesi to experience an unforgettable outdoor adventure.

Vauhtiajot and Venetians

30.8.2025

The summer season concludes with a full-day exciting event. In the Vauhtiajot (Speed Races), participants race downhill in homemade cars along a 1.3 km track from the church hill to the harbor. With an impressive 90 meters of elevation difference, there’s plenty of speed! There are separate categories for younger participants, as well as a fun category focused on creativity rather than speed. There are no participation fees or entry fees for the audience. The evening concludes with a music and light spectacle at the harbor. The Harbor Café-Restaurant Kermacotta is open all day, offering snacks and activities for children.
